advertisement

All of the following have been asserted by conservative commentators, columnists and pundits:

There is a liberal bias in the media.
There is a liberal bias in the schools and academia.
There is a liberal bias in the entertainment industry.
There is a liberal bias in the arts and literarture.
There is a liberal bias in the unions.
There is a liberal bias in the high-tech industry.
There is a liberal bias in the health care professions.
There is a liberal bias in the legal profession.
There is a liberal bias in the scientific community.
There is a liberal bias in the intelligentsia.
There is a liberal bias in the youth of our country.
There is a liberal bias in the seniors population.
There is a liberal bias in the gay community.
There is a liberal bias among people of color.
There is a liberal bias in the Federal Bureacracy.
There is a liberal bias among library professionals.
There is a liberal bias among humanitarian organizations.

So how can anyone possibly assert that there is a conservative majority?

What's this?
Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I conceived of this as a kind of collaborative poem. Post your own (be you liberal, conservative or some other persuasion) and I will add them to the list.

All the groups you posted are minorities. The majority is comprised of religious anti-intellectuals. Anything opposing their will is liberal.

That bias doesn't exist in the only math conservatives care about - personal finance.

That is why they are now lovingly called the Neo-Cons! They hate the truth because of its antagonistic force to their ideology.

Neo, from the Latin cognate meaning "new" and "con" from the American slang for "confidence game" meaning a hoax, a trick to cheat the unwitting.
